Young Boy Killed in Fatal Waterpark Accident

A waterpark accident in Kansas is drawing national headlines as more and more of the horrifying details of the fatal accident have been released to the public.

The tragic accident occurred at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, Kansas. The victim, a 10-year-old boy was riding on the park’s Verruckt water slide, which has been called the tallest water slide in the world. While the boy and two other people were sliding down the ride on a raft, something apparently went terribly wrong.

The victim sustained a catastrophic neck injury in the amusement park accident. Lifeguards and emergency medical responders were unable to do anything to save the boy’s life. Now details have emerged and given some sense of why there was little that could be done to help the victim: he was reportedly decapitated while riding on the water slide. Two other people who were on the raft sustained facial injuries in the water slide accident, but those injuries were deemed minor.

After the tragic accident, Schlitterbahn officials released an official statement expressing their condolences to the family of the victim. The Schlitterbahn Kansas City resort complex was initially shut down in the immediate aftermath of the water slide accident, but the park reopened sometime later.
